Westwood Fire Department is one of two fire companies of Lower Yoder
Township. Lower Yoder Township is located in Cambria County,
Pennsylvania and is neighboring the City of Johnstown. Both stations are
activated on all alarms within the township.

Our primary reason for being, is due to the commercial development of the
Westwood section of Lower Yoder Township and because of geographical
reasons. We were organized to maintain coverage on both ends of the 12.7 square miles of the township.

With the development of Westwood came two SARA facilities, three shopping centers: (Westwood Plaza, Westmont Shopping Center, and West
Hills square), West side Elementary School, four service stations, eight
apartment complexes (16 apartments each), Westmont Bowling Lanes, and
numerous dining areas. We also provide mutual aid on a regular basis to several surrounding West Hills Regional Fire Dept., Southmont Fire Dept., Upper Yoder Fire Dept., and the other fire company of the township, Lower Yoder Fire Dept.
