Information about Lake Meade Fire and Rescue

Lake Meade Fire And Rescue is an all volunteer fire company located in the community of Lake Meade outside the town of East Berlin. Lake Meade Fire and Rescue was established in 1975. For more than 30 years we have been providing protection to the many residents of Lake Meade, Reading and Latimore Townships in Adams County, and Mutual aid to neighboring townships of York County. L.M.F.&R. started out with a 1,600 SQ. FT. brick and concrete building consisting of 4 bays and an office. This building housed a 1949 Ford Tanker, a 1954 Dodge Pumper, a 1968 Chevrolet Utility truck, and a 1969 Cadillac Ambulance. Station 26 is now 4,000 SQ. FT. complete with an office, meeting and training room, serving area, and 4 bays. At the end of 2008 a two bay 30 x 50 garage was built to house the brush truck, boat and trailer. The station now houses a 1986 International Tanker, a 2001 E-One Engine, a 2002 Braun Ford F-450 Ambulance, a 2007 KME Rescue, a Ford Brush Truck and an Achilles SG 140 inflatable boat.
